The Same Family, Four Decades On.
It starts with Bob Whitaker. Alan Griffin learned the trade working for him, and in 1984 went out on his own and started Griffin Roofing. In 2001 his brother Mike formed Cascade Roofing, and in 2012 the two joined forces under one name. Colton Griffin, Alan’s son, is the 3rd generation of the family on Utah roofs.
40 years later it is still a family company in Orem, with crews who have worked here for years rather than a season. That is the whole difference. We are not going anywhere, so a roof that fails in year three is our problem, and we know it going in.
We are a licensed and insured roofing company — Utah contractor license #5041395-5501. Ask any roofer for both before you let them start, and ask for the numbers rather than the word.
We do not subcontract our work. Every roof is installed by our own W2 employees. Some have been with us for years and some for decades. Nobody hands your roof to a crew they met that morning, and there is no salesman between you and the people who run the company: you deal with Alan, Mike and Colton.
We hold certifications from 8 manufacturers. That matters for one practical reason: it lets us register the full manufacturer warranty in your name, rather than the materials-only coverage an uncertified installer can offer.
